2016 Year end

YEP We Did.

Hey Wheelworkers! With 2017 officially under way, I thought it would be the perfect time to….look back on 2016. :) With thanks to the Board and to Anne (our indefatigable President) for exceptional planning, the Year End Party - YEP - was a night to remember. There were newbies, old-bies, people who raced, people who didn’t, and even a few interlopers from a nearby party. Yeah, we know. These green shades are pretty slick.

For those who couldn’t attend, here’s a link to the powerpoint Anne created...and of course, highlights list?

1. We have 94 people on the WWMS team. (How many do you know?)
2. About 48% of us live in Cambridge/Somerville/Medford. 23% live in Boston-West; 18% Boston North; 10% Boston; 1% Boston South.
3. Fun fact for the ladies: we are 51% female.
4. Fun fact for the dudes: we are 51% female. ;)
5. 40% of the 2016 team was comprised of new members
6. The team honored our dear friend Caitlin Clavette. We wear her name on our uniforms with pride.
7. 2 teammates did full IronMan races in 2016 (Congrats to Carole and Malia!)
8. I did no IronMan races in 2016. Neither did the other 92 members. Shout out to my sprinters.
9. Over 30 teammates attended Training Weekend (Mark your calendars for 2017: likely the weekend of May 20!)
10. As a team, we participated in more than 50 races with 44 podium finishes. NICE WORK!!
